Running a business in Queensland is exciting — but it also comes with a responsibility to meet tax and compliance deadlines. Missing key lodgment dates can result in penalties, interest, or unnecessary stress.
At UHY Haines Norton Brisbane, we work with businesses every day to keep compliance simple and stress-free. Here are the top five deadlines every Queensland business should have on its calendar.
1. Business Activity Statements (BAS)
Your BAS reports GST, PAYG withholding and other obligations.
- Monthly lodgers: due 21st of each month
- Quarterly lodgers: due 28 days after the quarter (e.g. 28 April, 28 July, 28 October, 28 February)
- Extensions may apply when lodging through a registered tax agent.
📌 Pro tip: Automating your BAS preparation helps avoid last-minute rushes.
2. PAYG Withholding& Superannuation Guarantee
If you employ staff, PAYG and super obligations are essential.

- Super Guarantee: Due 28 days after quarter end (e.g. 28 July for June quarter).
Late super payments aren’t tax deductible — so timeliness matters.
