Darren has been with UHY Haines Norton since 1994, delivering audit and assurance services to a range of clients for over 30 years. He is a Registered Company Auditor, Chartered Accountant and Accredited Probity Advisor.

Over the years Darren has specialised in the provision of audit, assurance, governance, probity, and due diligence services. Three decades of practice has included a diverse client range, and allowed him to work with organisations of all shapes and sizes in a number of fields, including and not limited to; building and construction, property, manufacturing, engineering and healthcare.

Darren is currently an approved service provider to the Queensland Audit Office. He is also part of the whole-of-government panel arrangement (QGP0050-18: Provision of Professional Services of Finance, Audit and Probity) servicing the needs of the Queensland Government. This position and his experience of the building and construction sector has made Darren eligible to provide PQC reports for the Department of Housing and Public Works PQC Registrar.

Darren’s experience in working with clients ranging from charities to health and welfare organisations in the not-for-profit sector has facilitated a deeper understanding of the organisational needs of NFPs, and allowed him to develop tailored services that tackle issues unique to the not-for-profit space. He served on the Chartered Accountants National Charities and NFP Advisory Committee, and chaired the CAANZ’s Not for Profit Special Interest Group for Queensland.

Darren has worked with a spectrum of NFP organisations in the development and restructuring of their activities and is a past Director and Chair of the Audit Committee for the Leukaemia Foundation of Australia.

Prior to his position as Managing Partner, he held the role of Head of Audit at Brisbane. He was recently honoured by being appointed as an external representative to Southern Downs Regional Council’s Audit and Risk Management Committee.

Dean is experienced in providing accounting and business advice to a range of small to medium sized clients. Dean has an in depth knowledge of the Property, Building & Construction and Creative industries. Further, Dean has gained particular expertise in the provision of tax compliance services to body corporates and body corporate managers.

Dean’s work focuses on helping clients to prosper through implementing strategies to reduce waste, increase sales and improve cash flow and ultimately improve profits. Beyond profit improvement strategies, his work involves the refinement and development of business processes, business and marketing plans, feasibility studies and reports, management reporting (including budgets, forecast, KPI dashboards, accounting systems and cloud accounting) and advice on business development strategies. Beyond this scope, Dean assists clients in tackling their day to day accounting and tax needs.

Lauren has extensive experience in providing taxation advice to clients across various industries including the engineering, construction, manufacturing and property development sectors. She also has a high degree of knowledge and experience in specialist GST matters. Lauren works closely with clients of all levels of enterprise to ensure their taxation position is the best that it can be.

Reece leads UHY Haines Norton Brisbane’s Audit and Assurance division and oversees the firm’s Outsourced Accounting and CFO services. He works with clients across the not-for-profit, public, and private sectors, helping them strengthen financial reporting, compliance, and business performance.

With close to two decades of experience, Reece brings a practical, client-focused approach to audits, technical accounting advice, and outsourced financial management including bookkeeping, reporting, payroll, and compliance. His broad industry experience spans community services, education, financial services, real estate and property development, construction, engineering, and aviation.

Reece is known for his practical insights, clear communication, and commitment to building trusted long-term client relationships.
